For the fifth consecutive year, Doane University is ranked nationally in the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings list. Doane has ranked in the top 400 nationally in this list for three consecutive years.

Counseling student wants to create a 'healthier society of women and girls'
|
|
Demetria Ballard ’22E, a student in Doane's Master of Education in School Counseling program, has written her first children's book, set to be published in October. Ballard also founded a life skills training program in Omaha for girls ages 10-19, designed to promote wellness and mental health.

James Beatty ’70
|
On Friday at 4:30, James Beatty ’70 will be hosting a virtual webinar with special guests Jerry Tarde, editor-in-chief of Golf Digest, Debert Cook, founder of African American Golfer's Digest, and Myron Parsley, Head Men's Golf Coach at Doane. Beatty has helped organize the first ever African American Golf EXPO and Forum, scheduled to take place February 20-23 in Atlanta, GA. More information about this presentation can be found here.

Football improves to 2-1 with win over Hastings College
|
The Tigers football team finished their first road game of the year in impressive fashion, outscoring Hastings College 31-23 in the second half en route to a 52-37 victory. Doane racked up 320 rushing yards in the game and won the turnover battle 4-0. Doane swept the GPAC Weekly Player awards, as RB Jamaine Derogene was named GPAC Offensive Player of the Week, LB Riley Heithoff was named GPAC Defensive Player of the Week, and Jeremy Henning was named GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Dereogene was also named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week.

PPD Commencement ceremony held for May graduates
|
Doane held postponed Commencement ceremonies for May graduates on September 20th. Over 200 graduates attended the event, which was held at Al Papik Field to allow for physical distancing. Graduates from the Crete campus were recognized at a morning ceremony and non-residential students were recognized at a ceremony in the afternoon. The list of Doane's May graduates can be seen here.

Constitution Day
|
In honor of Constitution Day, the Nebraska Court of Appeals fielded questions from Doane students via Zoom on September 17. Normally, as part of Constitution Day, the Nebraska Court of Appeals holds oral arguments on the campus of a Nebraska college or university. Unfortunately, live oral arguments were not an option this fall due to COVID. The judges present were Hon. Frankie J. Moore and Hon. Francie C. Riedmann.

Homecoming Week
|
Homecoming Week at Doane has begun! This year's theme is 20/20: Focus on the Future. Despite being unable to host traditional Homecoming events due to COVID-19, Doane has a number of virtual events planned throughout the week to keep alumni, students, faculty, and staff engaged.
